Alireza is a lecturer in Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering in School of Computing, Science and Engineering. He has been involved in teaching and research since and before his time at University of Exeter as a PhD student where he was awarded the Exeter Research Scholarship and recognized as best PhD student. Before joining the University of Salford, Alireza had lectureship and senior lectureship positions in Geotechnical Engineering at University of East London started immediately after completing his PhD in 2013. Alireza is a member of Institution of Civil Engineers and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research interests are in the area of Geotechnical and Geo-environmental Engineering including Computational Geomechanics and experimental and numerical modelling of the behaviour of complicated geotechnical and civil engineering materials and systems. Alireza has been involved in internal and external applications to attract funding and his research has so far been published in the form of over 50 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications and book chapters.
