I initially qualified as Registered Nurse in 1984 and worked a variety of acute care settings, including Intensive Care, Surgery and Later Life Care. In 1996 I qualified as a Paediatric Nurse and undertook a variety of roles predominately within School Nursing but also within acute paediatric care and later a Children's Hospice alongside my main role in Education. I have been an NMC Registered Nurse Teacher since 2010. Within the University I have specialised in Pre Registration Nurse Education, in particular Module Development and leadership where I aim to develop creative teaching material applicable to clinical practice. I was recently awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and maintain a client caseload alongside my main role.I have a clinical and research interest in caring for people living with long term conditions and my research profile illustrates this interest.
