My research lies in the broad area of Science and Technology Studies. Much of my research interest centres on information systems, in particular, sociological and philosophical aspects of the subject. I have published widely on gender and information technologies, in particular, gender and artificial intelligence. I maintain an active research interest in computer ethics and have published a number of papers in this area. I was a PI on the EPSRC/ESRC/TSB funded VOME project. This is a three year project reseaching on-line privacy in collaboration with Royal Holloway UL, Cranfield University, Sunderland City Council and Consult Hyperion. In the last four years I have presented a number of papers on historical and sociological aspects of forensic sciences and technologies and I am currently consolidating this research into a book.
