Andrew is the Programme Leader and Year 1 manager for the BSc (Hons) Sports Science degree programme. Andrew is also a Lecturer in Sport Psychology and leads several sport psychology modules across sports-related undergraduate degree programmes. Additionally, Andrew is a Year 1 Personal Tutor, a Year 3 Dissertation Supervisor, and is the Liaison Officer for Outreach events in the Directorate of Sport, Exercise, and Physiotherapy. At postgraduate level, Andrew contributes to sport psychology teaching across sports-related degree programmes and is also a PhD supervisor. Andrew is an active researcher whose research focuses on social identities, leadership, rational and irrational beliefs, and Personal-Disclosure Mutual-Sharing (PDMS). Andrew continues to present his research at conferences and publish his research in peer-reviewed journals. As a BASES Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist (Psychology) and Chartered Scientist, Andrew provides sport psychology support to athletes across a range of sports including swimming, rugby union, and cricket. Finally, Andrew engages regularly with the media to discuss sport psychology topics. For example, Andrew has appeared on BBC Radio Manchester, ITV Granada News, and in media outlets such as The Express and The Conversation.
