Aris is Professor (Full - Research Professor) of Operational Research (OR) and Operations Management at the Salford Business School. His research interests relate primarily to forecasting of intermittent demands (count series) and the interface between statistical demand forecasting and stock control. He has conducted many goverment/ research council funded projects in this area; the following are links to some of those projects:

SERVICE TO THE PROFESSION
Aris is co-editing (with Phil Scarf and Roge Mamon) the IMA Journal of Management Mathematics, he is the Associate Editor (for Viewpoints) of the Journal of the Operational Research Society and he serves at the Executive Committee of the International Society or Inventories Resaerch. He has organised numerous streams and sessions in the area of Forecasting for Inventory Management for all relevant major international symposia: International Symposium on Forecasting (ISF), International Symposium on Inventories Research (ISIR), European and International Conferences of the Operational Research Societies (EURO and IFORS respectively) and the National (UK) conference of the OR Society. He has also delivered many keynote papers. Aris has recently served at the Organising Committe of the national conference of the UK Operational Research Society (OR 53, Nottingham, Sep. 06-08, 2011).
