Research Focus

Chaminda's work is aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of disaster management efforts by exploring means of building resilience (for both building and infrastructure) through capturing and sharing good practices and lessons learned from past disasters. Following are the objectives addressing this aim:

  • To capture disaster knowledge, both tacit and explicit, relating to land, property and construction
  • To share and disseminate disaster knowledge using appropriate knowledge management technologies and techniques
  • To incorporate related good practices and lessons learned in future disaster management strategies to build resilience
