I have worked at the University since 2012. I have many years’ experience as a qualified occupational therapist working in a variety of areas of healthcare. My clinical experience involves working with people in a variety of settings most notably seating, posture and pressure management and wheelchair services. I have also worked in health and social care, assessing and providing major and minor adaptations and equipment for people with complex disabilities. When time peremits I act as an expert witness to present opinion about facts of a case during legal proceedings I have completed research in order to establish an evidence base for products in seating using qualitative an quantitative methods which was presented at the International Seating Symposium in Nashville USA. I have recently co led the re writing of the clinical seating guidelines for the Tissue Viability Society . This work received an award from the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Programme (EPUAP) I am currently undertaking research evaluating night time positioning equipment with eldelry residents in a nursing home.
