My current research focuses on narratives of the city, including that within literature, particularly crime fiction, media representations, and the lived experience of the postmodern city. This interest has led to a range of work including a content analysis of local media reporting of the August 2011 riots and chapters on representations of Edinburgh in Scottish crime writing.
I am currently working on a project investigating Islamophobia following the Manchester Arena Bombing both on social media and offline.
A play about the history of Prestwich Mental Asylum brought to the University for Social Policy, Social Work, and Mental Health Nursing students.
A panel-led discussion of the issues surrounding the riots in Salford. The panel consisted of Professor Martin Hall, Dr Diane Frost, Dr Peter Eachus, and Rev. Hayley Matthews.
