Profile Summary
After qualifying as a registered general nurse in 1989 I gained experience within a number of surgical specialities until I was appointed as lecturer in Adult nursing within the School of Nursing at the University of Salford in 2000. In 2012 I was appointed as Senior Lecturer. My teaching interests are anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medicines management and Clinical Skills. I have held many roles within my time at Salford including programme leader, Co lead for clinical skills and my current role as Head of Adult Nursing. My research interests are many including numeracy related to drug calculations, medicines management, nurse education and internationalisation of nursing. However, my focus at present related to my PhD studies is the future nurse and Multi stakeholder perceptions. What do employees see as the role, what does the service user expect and therefore how do our curricula support the relevant educational needs of our future nursing workforce.
