Profile Summary

My work and research interests focuses on intersections of the digital and cultural with a particular interest in innovation. My PhD analysed clusters of popular web search terms with the goal of understanding how these combinations of interests reflected contemporary culture. Since then I have written about the economics of online role playing games, the impact of conflict in online communities, the concept of thananetworking (social networks based on grieving and mourning) as well as memes and photobombs. More recently I have focused attention on the processes of innovation and the application of Science Fiction Prototyping.
