Profile Summary

My research interests are in the area of comparative gender relations and systems, particularly as they relate to Britain and France. Much of my recent work has related to fathers and fathering in these countries and has been cross-disciplinary (the sociology of the family and work, management studies, industrial relations and area studies). I am an Assistant Editor of Gender, Work and Organization. I continue to be interested in cross-national comparative methodology and issues. Following a period as my School's Equality and Diversity officer I now also have a lively interest in policy and practice in this field. I warmly welcome PhD applications in relevant fields.
