Dr Jelena Dzakula is a Researcher at the University of Salford, Community Finance Solutions. Her current work focuses on the so-called disruptive technologies in the financial sectors, such as blockchain and cryptocurrencies, and their impact on the users. Jelena has obtained a PhD from the University of Westminster, Media and Communications Research Institute. Her doctoral research focused on new modes of governance in the media sector and their democratic quality. Jelena holds a Masters degree in Communications Policy from the University of Westminster, and a Bachelors degree in Linguistics and Literature from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. She has worked for Ofcom, Voice of the Listener and Viewer, MasterCard, and she has been a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster.
