Profile Summary

I completed my BA, MA and PhD at the University of Manchester. I joined the University of Salford as a temporary lecturer in 2013 and was appointed as Lecturer in English Literature (Nineteenth Century) in 2014.

My research interests include Olive Schreiner and her circle; fin de siècle literatures and cultures; colonial and postcolonial texts and contexts (particularly from Southern Africa); postcolonial theory; postcolonial ecocriticism; animals and the environment in literature; African modernism; political radicalism in creative communities; and gender and sexuality in nineteenth- and twentieth-century literature and culture.
