Following her career in the field of gastroenterology and education and development in the NHS Jackie entered nurse education in 2000 as a lecturer/practitioner becoming a full-time lecturer in Adult Nursing in 2004. She progressed to hold senior positions within the School of Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work and Social Sciences at the University of Salford, including Practice Learning Lead and Programme Leader for a suite of leadership and management and educational leadership masters programmes. University of Salford Appointed Governor Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust until July 2016 Jackie is a Non Executive Director at Healthwatch Salford.
Awarded National Teaching Fellow Higher Education Academy, Principal Fellow Higher Education Academy and Vice Chancellor Distinguished Teaching Award, Jackie has led on the evaluation and publication in peer review journals of leadership development and led a team to create the Multi-dimesional Leadership Development Model. Her research interest is in pedagogical approaches to leadership development, practice learning, workforce development and role transition. Jackie has been appointed to Reader Teaching and Learning Health Professional Education. Jackie is leading the Educationual Research and Scholarship cluster (ERS) that forms part of the Univerity of Salford Centre for Applied Research in Health , Welfare and policy (CARe). This centre brings together our expertise from across the School of Health And Society.
