Profile Summary

May is an architect, with experience both in the UK and the Middle East. May received her M.Arch in 1993, followed by her PhD in 1999 in Architecture from the University of Liverpool. May’s doctoral studies in CAD investigated the effect that presentation techniques can have on the perception of computer-generated architectural images. May worked at the School of Architecture at the University of Sheffield between 1999 and 2004. She then joined the University of Salford in 2007. Her research interests include Computer Aided Design (CAD); the briefing and design process; collaborative working; and open innovation in the ecosystem. Recent projects include FIRM (A Framework for Innovation and Research in MediaCityUK), CoSpaces and UCI (Uniting Construction Information).
