Since joining the University of Salford in 2004, I have published widely in respected international refereed journals, presented numerous papers at national and international conferences and contributed chapters to books and encyclopaedias. I am part of the international organising committee for AOIR conference being hosted at Salford in 2012 and actively contribute to a number of other conferences and workshops. I work alongside Sian Lincoln (John Moore’s University), Ben Light and Steve Sawyer (Syracuse University) as part of the organisation team for the Digital Cultures Workshop which is now in its 4th Year. I play a leading role in an internationally recognised group of researchers contributing to the overall University’s research strategic plan. I was returned in the 2008 UK RAE submission, and will be returned in the 2014 REF submission. I have sought to maintain a continuous level of excellence in my teaching and learning activities, playing an active role in the development, preparation and delivering of teaching whilst also publishing in the area. I am an enthusiast supporter of engaging in research informed teaching, and also have conducted teaching informed research. I currently am part of two Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) schemes.
