I worked for the NHS for 8 years before joining the academic team at Salford full time in 2008. I started my career working as podistrist in Gwent health care NHS trust and remained in south Wales for 2 years. I then moved back to my home town of Stoke on Trent to work for the Primary Care Trust as a specialist practitioner working with the high risk foot and having the role as the clinical lead for continuing professional development and health promotion. Using my experience in teaching and in the clinical management of the high risk foot I am currently studying for a PhD by published works which has afforded me the opportunity to work abroad in facilitating the development of foot health services in developing countries such as India. I also run a successful private practice specialising in minor surgical interventions as well as general podiatric work.
