Oliviu Sugar-Gabor graduated from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania with a BEng in Aeronautical Engineering and an MSc degree in Computational Fluid Dynamics.
He worked as assistant researcher at the INCAS National Institute for Aerospace Research in Bucharest before becoming a research associate at the University of Quebec in Montreal, Canada.
He received his PhD in 2016 from the University of Quebec, focusing on aerodynamic design and optimisation of adaptive wing geometries.
He joined the University of Salford in 2016 as Lecturer in Aerodynamics.
His research interests include steady and unsteady non-linear quasi-3D methods, study of compressible flight in ground effect, computational fluid dynamics, geometry parameterization techniques and the aerodynamic design and optimisation of unmanned aerial vehicles.
He has published 35 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact factor journals and in the proceedings of international-calibre conferences.
