I have been teaching at The University of Salford since 2001 and have taught a number of modules in that time including Management Development and Management Simulation and use my experience of setting up a successful business to give students practical advice.
My main focus of teaching surrounds the management of tourism destinations and enterprises; skills which are focused on tourism, but are transferable to other industries. I also created a module which takes Tourism students abroad to learn about sustainable development from industry professionals in real world tourism destinations.
I have written a chapter for the Higher Education Academy on internationalising the curriculum as I see this as of critical importance to modern graduates.
I am currently studying for a PhD in the field of consumer behaviour, focusing on the role of information sources used during the decision making process.
