I teach on undergraduate full and part time routes for the BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy, the MSc Advanced Occupational Therapy (online) and the Professional Doctorate. I currently hold the role of Acting Associate Head (Academic) in the School of Health Sciences (January 2015 to present). I also hold a role with responsibility for Student Experience, Retention and Progression (October 2014-present).
My research interests focus on qualitative research methodologies in education and health, particularly contamination of the research process by the researcher, the interpretation of meaning in data representation and the criteriology debate regarding qualitative methods and quality / rigour.
i have been a panel member on interim assessments and internal evaluations for PhD candidates at the University of Salford.
I have a particular interest in Grounded Theory and Situational Mapping as part of the analysis process. I have completed a Doctorate in Education focusing on student perceptions of employability and professionalism.
I am also interested in pedagogy, learning and teaching development and student engagement and experinence.
My clinical work was predominantly with individuals with a physical and / or learning disability particularly adolescents.
