An Approach to Context Representation Discovery and Sharing in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks

Liu, Q & Linge, N & Hope, M & Wang, J & Ma, T H & Ji, S 2013, 'An Approach to Context Representation Discovery and Sharing in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks', iNFORMATION, 16(2B), pp.1447-1456.

Abstract

The representation, discovery and exchange of context information in a mobile ad-hoc environment is challenging due to the dynamic nature of node movement and interaction. In this paper we present a new approach to context exchange that organizes the format of context parameters and maintains efficient communication within a mobile ad hoc network. A Context information Base (CiB) and Context information Communication protocol (CiComm) have been designed to implement the proposed features. Our work has been simulated using NS-2 and depicted high context discovery success and low service discovery bandwidth.
