I am a children's nurse by professional background with over twenty years in clinical practice. In 1992 I undertook a one- year secondment as a job-sharing teacher before applying for a lecturers position in 1996. During this time I have also been able to undertake post-registration qualifications and acquire a post-graduate Diploma in Education and an MSc. (Education) I became a Senior Lecturer in 2003. I lived in Paris, for 6 months in my twenties and speak some French and also undertook Russian and Spanish at school. I have been the international link lecturer for Sweden, University of Linkoping since 1996
I became the Student Experience Lead for the School of Nursing & Midwifery in February 2008 and have become interested in exploring and using the findings from the National Student Survey to enhance the student experience of nurse education.
I am a member of the child health team and interested in children's nurses development through our programmes
Currently undertaking a Ph.D. in a specific area of safeguarding .

In 2014 I (as part of a small team) won a Vice Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award for our work on the school Twitter account @NursingSUni working in partnership to co-curate with students.
