Profile Summary

I am primarily a children and young people's nurse with over 20 years clinical experience. My main areas of interest are in supporting children and young people that have experienced major trauma, particularly thermal injury that require extensive critical care and psychosocial rehabilitation.

The continued growth and development of the child and their family is of great interest, and the support of those with learning difficulties and / or Autism is the focus of my research and ultimately my Phd.

My research considers how we meet the specific and individualised needs of the child and young person with a diagnosis or suspected diagnosis of Autism. The inequalities in health that they experience and what can be achieved in order to ameliorate this.
