Finding high quality evidence for practice

Brettle, A 2012, 'Finding high quality evidence for practice', The Practising Midwife.

Abstract

High quality maternity care is underpinned by high quality evidence.  Midwives, like all health care professionals, are obliged to use the best available evidence which includes delivering care based on the best available evidence or best practice and ensuring that any advice given is evidence based (NMC 2008). But how do you know what is “best  quality” evidence?  And how do you find it?  This article will introduce you to relevant sources of information and provide you with a guide to searching so that you can ensure your practice is based on best quality evidence.
